#Cindy64 Was A Blast! (And Still Is)
Cindy Apologizes For Having Too Much Birthday Fun To Answer A Question This Week
OK, this is embarrassing – but I have to ask your forgiveness for the fact that my 64th birthday celebrations unintentionally subsumed my Dear Cindy responsibilities this week That’s because I celebrated my birthday yesterday (February 1) with a dinner party for 11 of my nearest and dearest friends at #theskyapartment, which required quite a bit of preparation and setting up. We had a wonderful time and I got to bed at 1am – but then, feeling distinctly fragile, had to do rather a lot of clearing up while also packing and heading to JFK airport (where I’m writing this now) ahead of flying to London to celebrate #Cindy64 with family and UK friends. I’ll be combining that with welcoming Chinese New Year on Saturday February 10 with a celebration lunch for family at my mother’s London care home (and I’ll also be doing a number of business meetings, two speaking engagements, and meeting with some London-based personal coaching clients).
So normal Dear Cindy service will be resumed next week – but in the meantime, I wanted to share with you some photographs from last night’s celebrations
My best friend Kate Bristow flew in from LA specially for the evening.
My dear friend William Charnock cooked the main course – delicious baked cod with chimichurri sauce, accompanied by cheesy potato gratin and mixed vegetables – and sported his Cornish tartan kilt (the dress code was High Glamour). My friends Susan Danziger and Albert Wenger kindly brought caviar for the appetizer. Because there were twelve of us, I worried there might not be enough and ordered backup caviar from female-founded Cavi-air – with the result that we had a LOT of caviar!
The brilliant Abigail Edgecliffe-Johnson, Engineer of Joy, has made the Gallop birthday cakes for the past few years – this year, my #Cindy64 cake had a WATER FEATURE!!
Check out Abigail’s amazing creations here – you can order your own customized cake for an upcoming special event.
We ended the night dancing to a nostalgiafest of Eighties tunes – ABBA, the Eurythmics and the Petshop Boys featured heavily.
And this morning, I breakfasted on leftovers
Please do keep your questions coming, and I promise I’ll be back in answering mode next week!
