This is a question I get asked frequently by other founders of sex-positive businesses and sex educators doing incredibly important work.
It’s the one question even I can’t answer. Because this week, Instagram suspended our MakeLoveNotPorn account:
MakeLoveNotPorn is spearheading the Social Sex Revolution - the revolutionary part isn’t the sex, but the fact that we’re finally making it social: socializing, normalizing and de-stigmatizing sex, bringing it out of the shadows into the sunlight, to promote consent, communication, good sexual values and good sexual behavior.
Because we’re social, everything we post on Instagram and our other social channels, is deliberately entirely Safe For Work.
We post safe, healthy, educational, informative, entertaining and engaging content - and Instagram suspended us for something we don’t do.
So this week’s Dear Cindy was going to be an emotional plea for help from you, our wonderful Dear Cindy community - which is the only possible solution for this issue that we’re aware of.
If you’re on Instagram, you can click on ‘Report a problem’, and identify the relevant account as ‘Wrongfully suspended’:
Like every other female-lens sexual health and wellness venture, MakeLoveNotPorn is banned from advertising anywhere. Our social channels are our only means of promoting ourselves - so to have one suspended, is a significant business growth inhibitor.
So I’m happy to report that literally, just after I’d written this, Instagram reinstated our account, thanks to our many supporters who responded to our requests on social media for them to do the above.
I no longer need to ask this community to do so - but please also, if you are not already a MakeLoveNotPorn subscriber, consider signing up for a $10/month subscription to support us. And if you’re not already a Dear Cindy paid subscriber, please consider upgrading to a paid subscription to support us too - everything goes to keep MakeLoveNotPorn going ❤️
Thank you so much - and please keep sending me your questions for me to answer!
